Hello all! My first Trunk Club box arrived just a couple of days ago, and I’m really excited to share it with you.
You can link here for my unboxing and try on video on Youtube: https://youtu.be/S5iUFP6nFzM
I couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed with this box, because my stylist sent some things that I didn’t ask for. I asked for knee high black boots but got over the knee boots (after already explaining that I’m five feet tall). I asked for tailored fit-and-flare silhouettes and got a lot of boxy things. I said I didn’t need a jacket…and I got a jacket. I was much more impressed with my Stitch Fix stylist, who completely read my mind when it comes to my style. I’m still going to give Trunk Club another try. Hopefully it was a fluke!
I did end up keeping two things, though! Scroll down for images, and a breakdown of what I got:
ASTR Oversize Marled Knit Coat ($89) – RETURNED: This coat was way too boxy on me, and made my shoulders look massive! I wasn’t crazy about the marled texture, either.
Treasure & Bond Boyfriend Turtleneck Sweater ($55) – RETURNED: I liked this top, but I already have a black turtleneck. The cut was also a bit bulky at my midsection.
Halogen Side Cinch Top in Bright Plum ($59) – RETURNED: This color looked fantastic against my skin tone but, again, the cut was too boxy for my frame. The sleeves were also about 9 inches too long (how?!).
Topshop Floral Twist Wrap Blouse ($75) – KEPT: This top looked so great! I was a bit skeptical about the pattern at first, but it ended up looking fantastic with my dark wash jeans and dark brown leather boots. One of my favorite things is that this blouse cinches in the back (with a wrap tie), so you get great definition at the waist. Keeper!
Halogen Relaxed Pocket Cardigan ($49) – RETURNED: This cardigan wasn’t really my style. I also try to avoid bulky stripes, because they make me look a lot wider than I am.
Cece Kate Ruffle Hem Shift Dress ($138) – RETURNED: I liked the idea of a cute little black dress. Unfortunately, this was a shift dress and had no shape to it.
Eliza J Bell Sleeve Fit and Flare Dress in Magenta ($158) – RETURNED: I was very excited for this dress because it says “fit and flare,” but there really wasn’t that much shape to it. It didn’t truly flare until the ruffles at the bottom, so it was very tight at my midsection.
Paige Denim Transcend – Verdugo Ankle Skinny Jeans ($179) – RETURNED: These jeans were so soft and beautiful, but they were WAY too small in the hips. I let my stylist know that I would like to give the brand another try in the future.
Cece Crepe A-Line Skirt ($79) – KEPT: This skirt was so wonderful! It cinched at my waist, and had amazing thick pleats. The fabric was great, and it sat very well on my body. I plan on wearing this with a fitted black top, belt, and booties.
Marc Fisher ‘Alinda’ Over the Knee Boot ($229) – RETURNED: These boots came more than halfway up my leg. Totally ridiculous! These would’ve been amazing if they were actually knee length.
Thanks so much for reading! Let me know what you think of these pieces in the comments below.
