Stitch Fix Review No. 10 | May 2018

It’s time for my tenth Stitch Fix review! We’re finally in double digits!

For this fix, I asked my stylist for extremely versatile summer pieces. She really delivered! It looks like Adrienne B. is my new stylist, so I’m excited for a fresh start after a few bad fixes with my last stylist.

Also, I apologize in advance for the darker photos. I feel like every time my Stitch Fix box arrives, it’s a horrible cloudy weekend.

I’m so angry with myself because I peeked at my items again before my box arrived. This  really ruins the surprise for me, but it does allow for me to analyze the clothes more thoughtfully before the excitement of their arrival. I really hate the shipping aspect of Stitch Fix, but I know this is beyond their control. In a perfect world, the box would arrive RIGHT on the day they said it would. My box was supposed to arrive on Friday, and then my stylist didn’t send it out until Thursday, then the first USPS notification said it would arrive on Monday (which made me so sad because, when the box comes on Monday, I just spend my entire weekend being really antsy for it to arrive and then I have less time to take photographs and write my review). So once I saw a Monday arrival, I peeked because I knew I would be anxious all weekend. And then I got a new notification that said it would arrive on Saturday, so I was relieved but then angry at myself for peeking. Let’s get into the review!!

Stitch Fix is an online personal shopping service! It’s actually quite simple. You are matched with a personal stylist and they send you a box with five items whenever you need, but you can request recurring boxes (the options are seasonal, every couple of months, once a month, and every 2-3 weeks). There is a styling fee of $20 per box, which is credited to anything you purchase. It is free to return anything you don’t want or need! I’m planning on writing a more in depth post about the styling, checkout, and return process soon, so stay tuned for that! To sign up, you can visit Stitch Fix’s website and take the free style quiz. Also, please feel free to use my referral link here!

Market & Spruce Morgine Button Down Chambray Top in Blue ($68) — RETURNED: This is a lovely, versatile chambray top. I totally understand why my stylist sent this and I love her for it. However, this was like a dress on me! While I love the idea of wearing a comfy tunic over jeans or leggings for fall, this didn’t really fit in with my lighter summer wardrobe. Also, it was just SO big on me. I would’ve considered just buying it for fall if the sleeves were more fitted, but they were gigantic.

Liverpool Kinleigh 4-Way Stretch Ankle Skinny Jeans in Navy ($88) — KEPT: I’m so surprised that these fit me!! I have a lot of problems shopping for jeans because I’m short and curvy and brands don’t seem to cater to that sort of body type. But these fit like a glove! I do already have two pairs of dark wash jeans, but they have a more casual loose fit. These are very fitted, which my wardrobe was lacking. I’m very excited about these!

Hazel Lorison Embroidery Detail Top in Off-White ($58) — RETURNED: This was a basic summer top with some very pretty off-white embroidery. I liked the idea of it, but didn’t like it on me. It was too boxy, and too loose in the armpit area. Not really my style, and not really the sort of fit I like.

French Grey Gionna Ruffle Hem Skirt in Blue ($44) — KEPT: This is an item that I repeatedly pinned to my stylist board. Adrienne saw it and got it for me, and I’m so happy! This is the one Stitch Fix item that I’ve been lusting after for months. I’ve been looking for a flippy blue gingham skirt and this checks all of the boxes.

1 State Celvin Asymmetrical Flat in Tan ($98) — RETURNED: I didn’t like these from the second I saw them. They also slipped off the back of my foot. Nope!

Thanks for reading! You can find all of my other Stitch Fix reviews here.
