TIU Bikini Series Check In | Week One

I’ve officially completed an extremely successful week one of the series, and I am SO proud of myself. I didn’t have any slip ups, workout-wise or nutrition-wise.

Matcha Pineapple Smoothie

Workouts: I am SORE! I consider myself to be a pretty fit person, but the workouts have really tired me out. It was interesting to see the soreness move around my body throughout the week. First my arms were jelly for a couple of days, then my hips and lower abs, and now my hamstrings are super tight as I write this. Now that it’s the end of the week, my body is definitely craving lots of protein and I’m shaking just holding a plank for a few seconds. But it feels good to be tired at this point. If I wasn’t, I’d be worried. I’m not a Studio Tone It Up member (the app still pisses me off — I am NOT shelling out an extra $6.99 a month for it, nooooo way) so I’ve been doing the daily moves, complimentary workouts, and cardio challenges.

Blackened Salmon with Mango Pico & Coconut Quinoa

Nutrition: THIS IS THEIR BEST PLAN YET. The recipes are so delicious and amazing. For their other plans I would usually only add one recipe per week to the little list I’m keeping of favorite TIU recipes. But this week I added all of the recipes: Matcha Pineapple Smoothie, Strawberry Shortcake Muffins, Matcha Ice Cream, Berry Cauliflower Smoothie, Blackened Salmon with Pineapple Pico…it’s all so tasty. I am eating amazing amounts of vegetables also. For most of this week, I felt a TON of cravings and lots of nausea. This happened to me the first time I started TIU over a year ago, and I think it has to do with suddenly adding a bunch of protein powder to my diet, drinking apple cider vinegar every morning, limiting sugars after mid-day when my body wants it the most, and cutting out simple carbs. It’s definitely hard!! But let’s get to the next section…

Berry Cauliflower Smoothie

Results: So far, so good! My bloating has almost entirely disappeared. After only two days on the plan, my stomach deflated like a balloon. It’s so satisfying to wake up on day three and already see results. You know when you wake up and your stomach is flat? That is now how it looks all the time, which is a step in the right direction. I’m already tempted to take new measurements, but I’ll wait until the end of week two. Also, I’m starting to feel AMAZING. All of the nutrients, super foods, antioxidents, fruits, veggies, and clean protein and doing their thang and I feel light and clear. I’m still having some cravings (carbs!), but I’m also starting to be repulsed by junk food like chips (although candy is still calling to me). I’m excited to see how this progresses! Ready for week two!
