Hello! It’s been a long time since I’ve written a Weekly Roundup post and I miss it! My work week (Tuesday through Saturday) went by in such a quick blur. The weekend was nice because it is finally warm and sunny enough to not wear a jacket. I had been feeling that the rain and cloudiness would never end, so it’s nice to finally see the sun. On Sunday I woke up at 9:30 (which is extremely late for me ā I usually wake up anywhere between 3-7am which is both a blessing and a curse) and I went straight to the Met! I started with In Praise of Painting: Dutch Masterpieces at The Met. It was such a treat and I spent almost two hours just at this exhibition. I’m obsessed with The Dutch Golden Age ā it was such an exciting and prosperous time for the arts and science (ha, quite unlike the current time here in the US). I am floored by the eyes in this portrait by Rembrandt from 1632:

And I also can’t resist a good still life painting.

After that, I went to see Camp: Notes on Fashion because I always love The Costume Institute’s shows. This one was fine. Some of it felt campy, some of it didn’t. A lot of critics/people are annoyed that they took camp and turned it into something high brow. I sort of feel that way, but did love many of the designs they had on display. I’ll create another post of my photos from the show, which should go live on Thursday this week! Since it was such a nice day, I went up to the rooftop next to see Parapivot by Alicja Kwade. The installation was extremely beautiful against the skyline and in and of itself. I did a quick walk through the modern section and through Epic Abstraction, found myself in the Instruments of Rock and Roll exhibition (which was fantastic), wandered through the Greek and Roman section, and exited through the gift shop. I bought two books: Medieval Monsters (I saw this show at The Morgan with my best friend and loved it) and The Golden Age.

After The Met I came home and ate lunch, then Evan was back from a weekend trip and we took a walk in Carl Schurz Park (it’s one of the best parks in the city and sort of a hidden gem from tourists). We walked along the water, stalked other people’s dogs, and got Mr. Softee. Now we’re back and relaxing! We just ordered dinner and will probably spend the rest of the night being bummed about the crappy Game of Thrones ending.

Game of Thrones was predictably disappointing. It’s now Monday night and I’m sad the weekend is over! Today was pretty relaxing and errands-y. I woke up, make an amazing chocolate peanut butter layered smoothie, went to Loft and got a dress with a gift card from my sister and her husband, went food shopping, came home, meal prepped, and spent the rest of the day relaxing. That’s all for now ā thanks for reading!
Omg game of thrones!!! Dont get me started! I’m still bitter!!!!!!!!
