Good morning! These past two weeks have been an interesting combination of busy and relaxing.
Last Friday I had an appointment on the Upper West Side, so I wound my way through the park and enjoyed being in a different part of the city. It was nice to see the Museum of Natural History, and some yarn-bombed trees, and I stopped by a little Banksy that’s up there. That weekend was Valentine’s Day, so we had a lazy day at home and ate way too much food. We had a ton of fruit from the edible bouquet my boyfriend got, and I also baked a cake (I know the frosting is lumpy, we don’t have space for a mixer, I hand-mixed it with a spatula, don’t @ me).
I don’t have much to report from this past week — it was pretty quiet and snowy. I’ve been working on a yoga challenge and taking free classes online in drawing and investing (my interests are varied lol). This weekend, I played way too much Sims, and this morning we’re watching Dazed and Confused and then I’m going to tackle my to-do list for the day. I CANNOT wait to get a vaccine.
A couple of weeks ago we binged Selena + Chef on HBO Max, and I’ve been obsessed with making this matcha chocolate chip cookie recipe from Candace Kumai ever since. They’re easy to make and taste really nice. 10/10 would recommend. I’ll probably make my fourth batch this week.
This recipe for Peachy Mango Frosé put me in the mood for summer.
Beautiful celestial art from a 1750 astronomy book. I really want to frame these and put them in my non-existent library.
How to Craft the Perfect Daily Schedule. I like the idea of scheduling work and down-time based on your energy. My energy patterns have shifted a lot during COVID, so this was an interesting read.
This song is good-day-fuel.
A thing I didn’t realize I needed until now: dark Nordic folk music.
I was astonished to hear that the University of St Andrews, where I studied abroad, ended their contract with their only woman Gender Studies professor, Dr. Alison Kerr — and replaced her with two male colleagues who don’t have a background in the subject. Like…….what the ACTUAL FUCK?! You can find the petition linked in this article if you’d like to sign.
If you have a spare $15M lying around, you can buy the mansion from Schitt’s Creek!

An interesting article about intuitive eating. I’d like to try this!
Was anyone else obsessed with R.L. Stine’s Fear Street books growing up? It looks like Netflix will have a Fear Street film trilogy out this summer.
This was an interesting article about Roman concrete, believe it or not.
Thanks for reading!
